Connecting Community through original one-act plays.

Hosted on the second floor of our Studio, all ages are welcome to attend or participate. Plays are written by Bert Gambini and Kelly Thomasello, with the topics ranging from sentient planets, to pole vaulting, to an angelic love story.

Readers Theater is a casual evening where you'll enjoy original short stories read aloud followed by an open discussion with the writer and participants. Our 2023 play topics range from sentient planets to pole vaulting to an angelic love story to a charismatic spider. All ages are welcome to attend or participate.

June 2nd: The Charismatic Spider by Kelly Tomasello
A young charismatic spider summons the courage to interact with humans in an attempt to change their minds about the role arachnids play in our world.
Followed by a special art exhibit of Kelly Tomasello's recent sculpture work alongside her advanced art students from Starpoint High School.

June 16th: New Heights by Bert Gambini
Travel to a small midwestern town to follow a reporter's peculiar journey to uncover an unusual success story.

August 18th: The Angel Arrives by Bert Gambini
Enjoy the snarky ways of a pizza eating, chain smoking angel as they interfere with an already turbulent relationship.

August 25th: Passing Through by Bert Gambini
A sci-fi special, this short story highlights humankind's inability to take responsibility for Earth's demise through the lens of a sentient planet.

To participate you need nothing more than your voice and a willingness to join in the fun! There is one rehearsal the week of the reading, over tea and intended to be a conversation about the story itself, and getting to know each other.

We hope to see you at our second round of Readers Theater.
